Aunty Nora's Vintage and Handmade Market

So today was myself and Sangita's first day as stall holders at a market, and whilst it wasn't the busiest or biggest market ever, we think that the day was a good learning experience (mainly in knowing how to set up our stall;panic set in when we realised how small our table was!) and we managed to sell a reasonable amount for such a quiet day.

Next task for this week is setting up a big cartel shop for Fawn and Thistle and I'm going to be setting up one for my personal stuff too, to allow myself to indulge in my more macabre love of gothic illustration.

The top photograph shows off two of my newest illustrations for Grace magazine, which I will be posting about later. I hope everyone's enjoying their sunny bank holidays.

Fawn and thistle business cards

Here's our new business cards for Fawn and Thistle. Pretty cute, right? I really enjoyed designing them!
We've got our first stall at a market this coming Sunday at Aunty Nora's vintage and crafts fair in Deal, so its organisation mode. Hopefully we'll sell something!

They've arrived and now I have to choose which ones I'm going to go for!

New Business Cards

I've been trying to design some business cards recently, but I've decided to keep the children's illustration separate from my other stuff, so it's starting to get complicated! I designed a sample pack from Moo so I can see what a few different designs look like.

My First idea was to just have a different illustrated letter per card, but I'm not sure if that would be a bit plain. the other design is this:

It needs a few tweaks as it's just a rough design but I like that it's got my favourite frog prince on it.

I've also started playing around with designs for cards to have at my final MA exhibition. I'm not sure about this one, though I like the colour. I imagine I'll have produced a  better image by the time my exhibition comes up.

It's unexpectedly difficult designing your own promotion material, I have a tendency to get a bit precious and perfectionist about it all!
