The Six Swans and Seven Ravens final screenprints

I finally got a chance to get my final screen prints scanned in and here they are. They will soon be available to buy in my online shop (once I've created an online shop!)

It's a shame a picture can't convey just how special the hand finishings of gold leaf on the petals are, they really shine in light!

MA Illustration Interim Show.

Along with around 25 other Illustrators from my MA course, I will be exhibiting some work at The Beach Gallery next week.

Check out the other illustrators on the website or join our Facebook. I will be exhibiting my two new Fairytale screenprints.

Here's a sneak peek:

On a side not, my friend will be teaching me how to properly photograph things, so there will be no more shoddy photos on this blog!

The Seven Ravens

So this has taken me a lot longer to finish than I thought. The seven ravens is a Grimm tale that is very similar to the Six swans, but just that little bit...well..more grimm! I decided to show this by making The Seven Ravens similar in composition to The Six Swans, but a lot darker (and a bit occulty looking it seems).

Now for turning them in to screen prints.

The Seven Ravens

(As the drawing is pretty large, this is yet another one of my badly lit cameraphone snaps so some of the detail is missing and the tone uneven, hoping to get a good scan soon though)

Work in progress

The seven ravens print is taking a long long time, but I'm slowly getting there.

An Unkindness of Ravens

Here's all the sketchbook work for my next fairytale print The Seven Ravens. I love the fact that a group of ravens is called and unkindness or a conspiracy.

Nevermore

Drawing Ravens today, not the best quality photograph!
