U is for...
Unicorn! Yeah, there's not many real animals beginning with U apart from Urchins, and they're a bit dull

Yet another Illustrated name, all boys so far! I'm slowly building up the alphabet though and will hopefully have posters of the alphabet to sell soon x

George
Another illustrated child's name, this time it's red as George is a massive arsenal fan. I'm starting to do all the letters of the alphabet, in blue and pink and look into getting them printed up on vinyl etc. Reckon they could be a nice addition to any nursery.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!
So I've been making a few changes to my most recent projects. The business cards are finished, still got quite a bit of work to do on the flyer as it's not quite what's wanted.

recently I've been doing a bit of graphic design work for The Camden Head pub. Nothing major, but it's kept me busy! Go to draw a chicken with a monocle.

Stanley
It was my nephew's 1st birthday last week so I thought I'd draw him something special to keep and I decided to illustrate his name with animals and frame it for him. Something new I learnt? Not very many animals names start with an 'N'! I'm now considering doing the whole alphabet and selling prints, or maybe even vinyl stickers of baby names.

| this is the scanned image, for some reason my scanner cut off the y though and I didn't realise until it was framed. Doh. |

Love and Marriage, they go together like a horse and carriage
So, I notice that my most viewed post on this blog was for a design I made for some wedding invites, so I though I'd post the final thing.
I kept them simple and elegant, slightly art nouveau inspired. I have to say, the scans don't really do the paper much justice. The white paper was actually a really lovely pearlescent ivory colour.
I'm open to commissions if anyone's interested and would like to get in touch with me regarding them xx

sketchbooking
Here's a couple of pages from my current sketchbook. I'm working on a small printing project, where I'm creating my own Bestiary, like the ones found in Medieval times, but a bit more fun and experimental.
Anyway, to create these strange and bizarre creatures that populated the Medieval Bestiaries and also Jorge Luis Borges' Book of Legendary Creatures, I figured I should get to grips with drawing the original real life animals that were the inspiration.

Read more about Bestiaries here and here.

Only If For a Night

This is my entry for Florence + the Machine's Secret 7" song Only If For a Night.
From the website:
"Secret 7" is an exciting project combining music and art in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. Seven bands and recording artists (Florence + The Machine, The Cure, DJ Shadow, Ben Howard, CSS, Noah and The Whale and Bombay Bicycle Club) are inviting creatives to design the artwork for a seven inch vinyl sleeve inspired by one of their songs. The project will culminate in 700 unique vinyl sleeves displayed in Idea Generation Gallery in London in the week leading up to Record Store Day 2012. On that day, each of the vinyls at the gallery will be available to purchase with all of the profits going to Teenage Cancer Trust."
